Jay Perez and The Band Live in Concert – Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026
October 24 @ 7:00 pm – 11:30 pm
They call him The Voice for a reason.
Jay Perez is live Saturday, October 24, 2026 — Jay Perez and The Band, Mustang Lounge Bar, Weslaco — and if you grew up on Tejano radio, you already know what that night sounds like.
San Antonio-born Jesse “Jay” Pérez Jr. came up as a drummer, then stepped out front with The Latin Breed and David Lee Garza y Los Musicales before going solo in the early ’90s. Steel Rain. The Voice. Te Llevo En Mí. Toda Mi Vida. He mixed classic Tejano with R&B and soul until the whole genre had to make room for that baritone. “Ven a Mí.” “Lo Que Yo Tengo.” “Son Tus Miradas.” The Marvin Gaye and Billy Paul cuts that still stop a room.
The awards followed him for a decade: Tejano Music Awards Male Vocalist in 2000, 2003 through 2008, and 2010, plus Male Vocalist of the Decade and Entertainer of the Year. Three Grammy nominations. In 2024 he was still stacking hardware — Male Vocalist, Album of the Year for El Patrón, Song of the Year for “Vino Maldito” with David Lee Garza.
This is not a tribute. This is the man who sang those records, with the band, on a Saturday, for $25.
Reserve like it is already sold out. Because nights like this behave that way.
