Austin Meade Live in Weslaco Saturday, November 14
November 14 @ 7:00 pm – 11:30 pm
Austin Meade is bringing his Southern alternative rock sound to Weslaco on Saturday, November 14.
The New Braunfels-raised songwriter has spent the last decade splitting the difference between Texas country rooms and hard-rock stages. Raised by a Baptist preacher who took him to AC/DC, Journey, and Judas Priest, Meade grew up on guitar-driven records and still refuses a single lane. “Some days we’re the country band at a rock fest, some days we’re the rock band at a country fest,” he has said. “But we always sound like us.”
That mix is why his catalog travels. Black Sheep (2021) broke him wider with “Happier Alone,” the Koe Wetzel collab that became a calling card. Abstract Art of an Unstable Mind (2022) leaned into fuzz and self-aware cynicism. The 2024 Pretty Little Waist EP put him on rock radio with the Top 25 single “Blackout,” featuring Danny Worsnop of Asking Alexandria. His latest album, Almost Famous, is the most personal of the bunch — anthems about touring, marriage, kids, and the odd space between dive-bar favorite and almost-household name. Recent singles “Rio Grande” and “Slim Pickins,” both with Treaty Oak Revival, keep him tied to the Texas circuit he has opened for alongside names like Koe Wetzel, Sevendust, and Treaty Oak Revival.
Expect a loud, loose live set: riffs, hooks, and the kind of in-the-room energy that does not stay behind the rail. Meade has a reputation for working the crowd before he even hits the first chorus.
